Oman has evacuated 16 crew members of the Saudi oil tanker Sidr, which was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz on August 31. This was announced on Monday, September 7, by the Oman Maritime Security Center.
The attack occurred around 23:40 local time on August 31. Saudi Arabia blamed it on Iran. As a result, two crew members, citizens of the Philippines, were killed.
According to Reuters, there were 25 people on board the tanker. The Oman Navy ship provided medical and technical assistance to the crew and evacuated 16 sailors. There is no information about the fate of seven more crew members.
The tanker Sidr is owned by the Saudi national shipping company Bahri. On the same day, another supertanker carrying Saudi oil was attacked in the Strait of Hormuz.
