Bought shoes in Nha Trang and sent them to Russia, only to discover they were fake

The incident was reported by a woman to the Khanh Hoa province reporting system about the store at 3 Tran Quang Khai, Nha Trang ward, selling fake shoes of famous brands such as Nike and Adidas.

According to feedback, through the advertisements of famous bloggers and KOLs in Nha Trang, she trusted the store to buy two pairs of shoes for a total price of 1.3 million VND to send to her boyfriend in Russia.

When purchasing, the store staff confirmed that this was a genuine product. After two pairs of shoes were shipped to Russia, an expert inspected them and confirmed they were fake.

The woman contacted the store to complain but said the place refused to resolve the issue, saying the customer did not have a receipt so they could not return the goods or refund.

Receiving feedback, the Department of Industry and Trade directed Market Management Team No. 1 to inspect and detect business households with signs of trading counterfeit goods with protected trademarks in Vietnam.

The authorities then fined the business household 50 million VND for trading in counterfeit branded goods, and forced the destruction of 180 pairs of counterfeit Nike and Adidas branded shoes according to regulations.

The store representative admitted that the two pairs of shoes sold to the woman were not genuine Nike or Adidas products and added that they could not be priced at 1.3 million VND for two pairs.

Regarding the employee’s complaint that the product was genuine, the store representative explained that he was a new employee. According to this person, the store has always informed customers that the products are “categories 1, 2, 3” and do not sell genuine products.

“500,000-600,000 VND per pair of shoes is not genuine. We are looking for her to apologize and return the money for two pairs of shoes, but so far we have not been able to contact her,” the store representative said.

The store also admitted that it had previously sold counterfeit products of protected trademarks, was sanctioned and intended to stop doing business. However, the store representative denied hiring KOLs to advertise fake products.

“Most bloggers and KOLs are tourists, go shopping and then film themselves,” this person said.
