Theater advisor Hilkka Kinnunen has died at the age of 101. Kinnusen’s family tells about it.
Kinnunen died on Monday, October 19 in the morning in a hospital in Helsinki.
Kinnunen was born on March 19, 1925 in Vyborg. Known as an operetta star, Kinnunen founded his own Operetti Theater in 1959 and ran it until 1995.
Operetta is a kind of light opera. It’s a combination singing and dialogue, and includes lightness, satire and entertainment.
Kinnunen studied at the first annual course of the Finnish Theater School during the Continuation War in 1943–1945. He started his career at the Helsinki Workers’ Theater and then moved to the Kansanteatteri, which preceded the City Theater. He made his breakthrough in 1945 Gypsy princess– in the operetta.
From the People’s Theatre, he moved on to lead the Operetti Theater, where he sang stars Katri from Helena Anneli Sari and I met Kansa. In the theater, Kinnunen did everything and sang the main parts in seven languages when necessary.
When the Operettiteatteri tie came to an end in the 1990s, Kinnunen moved to Florida’s Palm Beach for the winters. At the same time, there was another influence there Donald Trump.
“Trump is not a gentleman. He has played with other people’s money. And Trump’s speeches are nonsensical. He brags and brags, but he also has his days. He’s going to die too. He’s already in the throes of old age,” Kinnunen stated In his 100th anniversary interview last year.
In the same interview, he revealed the secret of his own longevity.
“I’m a workaholic and a terribly hardworking person. I don’t have a whole lazy day.”
