Sun Group introduces the aviation ecosystem at Routes World 2026

Taking place on October 21-23, Routes World is an international forum on route network development, bringing together airlines, airports, tourism organizations and destination representatives. The event creates an opportunity for parties to exchange market potential, find partners and promote new aviation connections.

On the first day of the event, Sun Group’s booth E20 welcomed many airlines and international partners to exchange cooperation opportunities.

Here, the group introduces units in the aviation sector, including Sun PhuQuoc Airways (SPA); Phu Quoc International Airport, managed and operated by the group through Sun Airport Joint Stock Company (SAC); Van Don International Airport; Phu Quoc Airport Ground Services Company (SGP) and Phu Quoc Air Catering Factory (SCA).

According to the group’s orientation, the development of links from air transport, airport infrastructure to ground services and catering facilitates coordination of activities in the supply chain. For international airlines, this model opens up opportunities for cooperation in flight route development, coordinated operations and service provision at the airport.

Sun Group also aims to connect aviation with the tourism, resort and entertainment ecosystem in Phu Quoc and other destinations. Thereby, the group expects to expand cooperation with international partners in developing tourist sources, building market-based tourism products and connecting flights with experiences at the destination.

Sun Group’s focus at Routes World this year is to promote international air connections to Phu Quoc, as the island prepares for the 2027 APEC Summit Week.

The group is investing about 22,000 billion VND to expand Phu Quoc International Airport. Main items include runway No. 2, international passenger terminal T2, VIP terminal, apron expansion and auxiliary infrastructure system. According to the plan, the items will be put into operation in 2027 to serve APEC. Terminal T2 has a design capacity of 24 million passengers per year.

The airport expansion is expected to increase the capacity to receive international flights, while creating infrastructure for Phu Quoc to develop into an international destination in the long term.

Within the framework of Routes World 2026, Sun Group aviation group organizes bilateral meetings with airlines, airports and flight network development partners. The content of the exchange focused on opportunities to open new routes, strengthen existing connections and attract international visitors to Phu Quoc, including resort visitors, business visitors and tourists combining conferences and events (MICE) during the APEC year.

Through the event, Sun Group aims to expand its international partner network, synchronously develop airlines, airport infrastructure and aviation services with the tourism ecosystem. This orientation aims to increase connections between Phu Quoc and international markets before APEC 2027.
