Patti Smith turns her concert in Spain into a plea against war

Madrid. With her hair unraveled, a black tailored suit with a vest and a white t-shirt, Patti Smith gave her first concert in Asturias, where next Friday she will receive the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts for her long and prolific career as an artist, poet, writer, musician and voice of a generation that fought for the transformation of the planet. With her fist raised and energy gushing, Patti Smith turned her recital into a plea against war and extermination in the Gaza Strip, in addition to paying tribute to some essential figures in her life: García Lorca, Picasso, Jim Morrison and Arthur Rimbaud, who inspired her to delve into the abyss of creation.
