Linoy Ashram burst into tears when asked by Ofira Asayag and Eyal Berkovic about her partner recently. Asayag, unaware that the couple had separated, stood up to comfort. And also: Is she going to retire from the next Olympics?
Olympic gymnast Linoy Ashram started crying on air on a program by Ofira Asayag and Eyal Berkovic when asked about her partner recently. Asayag, unaware that Ashram and her partner had parted ways, asked to raise a New Year’s glass in his honor and Ashram responded in tears. Asayag apologized and went to comfort Ashram, “I did not know you were separated. You are stunning, everything is fine. Drink water now and breathe.”
In an interview with Ofira and Berkovic, she also said that she has not yet decided whether to continue competing in the next Olympics. “I have a lot of dilemmas, both physically and mentally. It’s very difficult as a gymnast to go on for many years. In the end I think about what’s good for me and what I’ll feel.
What has changed in you since winning?
“I do not feel that anything in me has changed, I am still the same Linoy. But today I can not go out because full of people recognize me and ask for pictures.”
What do you want to happen in the future?
“I want to open a club or association in my name. To teach little girls there and give them some of my knowledge and my ability so that they can go as far as they can.”
