Novi Sad: Farmers are calling the police to regulate traffic and utility workers to empty the container

Farmers from Vojvodina, who have been protesting and blocking part of the center of Novi Sad for five days, today called on the police and communal services to do their job.

They complained to the portal 021.rs that the traffic police are no longer there to take care of the flow of traffic in the streets around the part of the city that is blocked, while the utilities, although they brought them two additional containers, are now not coming to empty them.

Because of this, the farmers called the police to come to regulate traffic, because even though the protest has been going on for five days, many citizens still don’t know about the blockades, so there are unnecessary discussions.

One of the farmers, Djordje Grujić, told 021.rs that they are also calling the city communal services, primarily Čistoća, to come and take away the garbage from the part of Mihajlo Pupin Boulevard that is blocked, because they collect and dispose of waste, but the containers are now full.

As this portal has verified, piles have started to form next to several underground containers on Mihajla Pupina Boulevard, and the wastebaskets are mostly full.

In the part where farmers are located, there is almost no litter on the street, except for cigarette butts, and you can see that they are trying to keep everything as clean as possible.

Also, the portal’s reporters did not notice a single police patrol that seemed to have disappeared in the last two days from the center, except for the guard in front of Banovina.

Farmers, among other things, demand a purchase price of sunflowers of at least 700 euros per ton, subsidies for fuel and regressed purchase of mineral fertilizer.
