Damage from rocket attacks during the 36 days of the war did not exceed 1.5 billion shekels

Current Treasury Department estimates put cumulative property damage from rocket attacks from Iran, Yemen and Lebanon during the 36 days of the Roar of the Lion war at between NIS 1 billion and NIS 1.5 billion.

This is almost four times less than the damage caused to property during the 12 days of Operation People Like a Lion in the summer of 2025. The main reason for the significant reduction in damage is the absence of massive salvoes and Iran’s use of missiles with cluster warheads. They can cause damage over a larger area, but the damage itself will be less significant than when hit by a warhead weighing half a ton.

Let us recall that last summer the total damage to property was estimated at 5.5 billion shekels, excluding damage to scientific research carried out in the laboratories of the Weizmann Institute and the Soroka Hospital.

The volume of compensation to municipalities, businesses and workers sent on unpaid leave is estimated at another 7.5 billion shekels.
