Terveystalo increases efficiency: “30%” | Trade magazine

Health service company Health house reported last week for the first quarter clear drops in their figures. In the beginning of the year, the turnover decreased by 11 percent from the comparison period, and the adjusted operating profit fell by as much as 30 percent.

“All demand segments, i.e. the private side, the insurance company, companies and also the public side are slowing down a bit at the same time”, CEO of Terveystalo Ville Iho told Kauppalehti live Economic morning on Monday.

It can be seen in the demand of the entire market and thus also in Terveystalo’s figures. According to Iho, the market is now going through the post-inflation period and digesting the increase in costs. This is also reflected, for example, in the behavior of insurance companies.

According to Iho, Terveystalo is constantly looking for efficiency to respond to the situation.

“With our technology, for example, we are able to shorten reception times and at the same time give more time for the professional and the patient to meet. That’s only a good thing,” said Iho.

He stated that the problem with health care as a whole has been that time is spent on “unnecessary fiddling, clicking and transactions”.

Terveystalo launched its own user interface for professionals at the end of last year.

“It has already boosted reception operations by 30 percent in the modalities where it can already be used. At the same time, the number of clicks has decreased. We have been able to give several minutes more time to the actual meeting at the same time,” Iho said.

According to Iho, this is the kind of development that Terveystalo aims for with the help of technology.

“It has huge potential,” he said.

Change negotiations are underway

Terveystalo said earlier last week big change negotiations. They concern approximately 4,400 people and 110 positions may be reduced.

The reporter who hosted Monday’s Talousaamu Jussi Rosendahl asked Iho if the change negotiations are based on the development of artificial intelligence.

“We have a completely separate program for artificial intelligence. It’s not really related to these change negotiations,” Iho said.

According to him, the change negotiations are related to the decrease in demand during the last couple of quarters.

“But yes, these tasks are tasks that depend on the service volume, which are partly replaced by technology. Partly it’s because the volume is a little lower,” said Iho.
