Luce Ferrari debuts but doesn’t shine. What happens in Maranello?

Above all, the prezzo with which Luce lands on the market, set at 550,000 euros, “well above the most expensive model currently present in the Ferrari range (Testarossa at 460,000 euros) and significantly higher than the average selling cost of the Cavallino for the first quarter of 2026, equal to 453,000 euros”. We expect the Luce “to remain a niche offering within the range, representing approximately 1% of total volumes,” say analysts at Mediobanca. For experts Intermonte instead the price could “be increased compared to the average revenues per unit of around 460 thousand euros (to be considered net of VAT but including customizations, which on average represent 19-20%)”.

Despite this, analysts at Intermonte they are confident “in the company’s ability to produce the vehicle according to the highest quality standards and to manage the relationship between supply and demand, with feedback from customers and dealers representing the first element in defining the group’s future model pipeline”. Equity instead, he is “of the opinion that an electric model with a high price, despite being a ‘range’ model, will not generate high volumes. We do not believe that the volumes of this model are decisive in influencing the group’s results, but as it is a first model with a new engine it is important to preserve the image of quality and performance”. According to commentator Chris Bryant of Bloomberg, the price of 640 thousand dollars “is an exaggeration”. The judgment of former Ferrari president Luca Cordero di is harsh Montezemoloaccording to which with the electric car “there is the risk of destroying a myth”. As for the Luce supercar: “If I had to say what I think, I would hurt Ferrari. I’m very sorry, I hope they take the Cavallino off, at least, from that car.” Then he commented: “It’s a machine that at least the Chinese won’t copy.”

The institutional presentation

The car between yesterday and today was presented by the company top management – the president of Ferrari Spa John Elkann and the CEO Benedetto Vigna – both to the Head of State Sergio Mattarella at the Quirinale and to Pope Leo XIV in the residence of Castel Gandolfo.

Design and aerodynamics

The silhouette of the car is defined by the glass house with a shape similar to a shell. The floating appendages at the front and rear contribute to aerodynamic performance of absolute excellence. The result is a car that combines performance and comfort of grand tourism: a car that does not replace an existing product but is “completely new”, ready to attract new customers.

Performance and technology

Luce it has a low curb weight of 2260 kg; this feature contributes to achieving performance at the top of the category (0-100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, 0-200 km/h in 6.8 seconds, maximum speed over 310 km/h and overall maximum power of 1050 HP) and aautonomy greater than 530 km. Maximum power reaches 1050 HP in Launch Control. The car is powered by four electric motors, one per wheel, and is equipped with a 122 kWh high-capacity battery, as well as F80-derived active suspension and independent steering rear axle.

Comfort e interni

Luce it is a sports supercar in all respects without sacrificing comfort and versatility. All seats are independently electrically adjustable via a simple and intuitive control. The front seats are heated and can be equipped, upon request, with a massage function. There are two designs, four fabric options and several color combinations available.

The launch colors are Giallo Luce, Azzurro La Plata, Rosso Fiammante and Rosso Dino.
