Perfect fries? Three Airfryers impress in the current test

The AK evaluated Handling, operation, cooking results and cleaning. All but one air fryer was dishwasher safe. There were clear differences in the preparation of French fries. Four devices produced fries that were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. In an air fryer, not all potato sticks were cooked evenly, some were crispy at the ends, but the middle part remained soft. On three other devices the fries became hard and dry.

Chicken nuggets dry only once

The chicken nuggets are better. The chicken parts were cooked perfectly in seven devices, only in one did the meat get a little dry. Five models scored with crispy breading, two could have been crispier and one produced a hard, dry crust.

In terms of volume, all machines were between 52 and 62 decibels, which corresponds roughly to a normal conversation. In one device, fries fell through the cooking basket, in another there was an unpleasant smell of plastic. The testers were positive about the versatility of the air fryer, which, in addition to deep-frying, can also grill, bake and roast.
