19.5 thousand apartments will be built on the site of oil reservoirs in Haifa Bay

The National Design and Construction Council unanimously approved guidelines for the preparation of an environmental impact report for “Complex 1” of the Sha’ar HaMifratz Master Plan 75 in Haifa Bay.

We are talking about an area of ​​3,000 dunams, including, among other things, an oil terminal, a stadium complex, the Brandeis forest and the coastline.

It is planned to build 19,500 residential buildings on site, about 225 thousand square meters. m of public facilities, 1.15 million sq. m of retail and business space, as well as 2,000 hotel rooms.

The decision of the national council is a transition from the strategic planning stage to the detailed design stage. The next stage will involve developing detailed plans in parallel with the preparation of the environmental report.

A new urban development project should link Haifa with the northern suburbs.
