Saga Furs’ brokerage sales more than doubled from the comparison period

4.7 million hides were offered at the auction, compared to 4.2 million hides a year earlier. The value of brokerage sales rose to 281 million euros, while a year earlier it was 127 million euros.

According to the company, the price level of mink skins remained stable, and the prices of fox skins rose slightly.

The value of brokerage sales for the entire fiscal year is now more than 500 million euros, which supports the company’s earlier estimate of a clearly better turnover and result than the previous fiscal year.

The company’s expectations for the season’s last auction in September are positive.

“In the lively auction, 4.6 million skins were sold and the value of the brokered sale rose to no less than 281 million euros. There was fierce competition in the auction hall, which speaks of the confidence of the market and the strong demand for the raw material. The result confirms the price level previously achieved”, CEO of Saga Furs Markus Gotthardt said in the company’s announcement.
