Run on Viennese allotment gardens: That’s how expensive the square meter is

Liesing is the cheapest

When comparing the two study periods, the Prices per square meter for Viennese allotment gardens increased from an average of 562 euros to 896 euros. This corresponds to an increase of around 60 percent.

There are significant price variations depending on the district. The highest average prices per square meter are achieved in Döbling (€1,297), Ottakring (€1,269) and Donaustadt (€1,129). However, allotment gardens are significantly cheaper to purchase in Liesing (€778), Floridsdorf (€809) and Leopoldstadt (€814).

More and more allotment gardens are changing ownership from private to private. While 45 percent of sales between 2016 and 2020 came from private owners, this share was already 67 percent between 2021 and 2025.
