La Jornada: Labor court rules in favor of manager dismissed by Sí Vale

The second labor court of individual matters of Mexico City ruled in favor of Gerardo Yépez, who in 2022 was dismissed as general director of Sí Vale – a company dedicated to providing services such as food vouchers, gasoline or restaurants –, an act for which the affected party demanded reinstatement.

The ruling considers that the dismissal was unjustified and, according to information in the case, Groupe Up, the controller of Sí Vale, did not support the decision to dismiss Yépez.

In April 2023, Yépez filed a labor lawsuit against Sí Vale, under file 485/2023, before the second labor court for individual matters in the country’s capital. In May 2026, the court issued a ruling in favor of the former manager.

The ruling orders Sí Vale to reinstate Yépez as general director under the same conditions he had when he was dismissed and to recognize his seniority since 2018.
