The income of the top decile in Israel is almost 14 times higher than the income of the bottom

The average monthly income of households in the top decile of wage earners in Israel is NIS 85,218, 13.6 times more than that of households in the bottom decile, which is NIS 6,278.

Such data is contained in the report of the Adwa Center on the social situation in Israel, which is cited by Calcalist.

According to the study, the top two deciles account for 45% of total household income of wage earners. The inequality in the distribution of capital income remains even greater: 82% of such income is concentrated in the top decile.

The report’s authors note that almost a quarter of employees in Israel receive low wages. At the same time, 54.4% of the population belongs to the middle class – this is one of the lowest figures among developed countries.
