The country’s leading plastic enterprise recorded 367 billion VND in profit after tax in the second quarter, a record level under the management of Thai shareholders.
The second quarter financial report shows that Binh Minh Plastic Joint Stock Company (BMP) had revenue of nearly 1,320 billion VND, an increase of more than 9% over the same period last year. Minus the cost price, gross profit recorded nearly 617 billion VND, equivalent to a gross profit margin of about 46.7%.
BMP also had more than 28 billion VND in financial revenue, an increase of nearly 11%. This amount mainly comes from deposit interest when the company has nearly 1,600 billion VND in savings at the bank.
Regular expenses tend to decrease during this period. Among them, sales costs were cut the most, while the finance and business management groups increased slightly.
In total, BMP profit is more than 367 billion VND after tax deduction, an improvement of more than 11% compared to the second quarter of 2025. This is a record number that this business achieved in a quarter.
Accumulated in the first half of the year, the company’s revenue reached nearly 2,777 billion VND, profit after tax was more than 671 billion VND. These two levels increased by 3% and 9% respectively compared to the first 6 months of last year.
This year, BMP aims to have 6,053 billion VND in revenue and 1,278 billion VND in profit after tax. Thus, currently, the company has completed nearly 46% of the revenue target and more than 52.5% of the profit plan.
Binh Minh Plastics has been operating in the market for more than 50 years, formerly a state-owned enterprise. This is one of the leading plastic enterprises in the country, known for its civil and high-tech products in many national projects.
In 2018, Nawaplastic – a member of SCG Group (Thailand) – took control when acquiring 24.2 million BMP shares from the State Capital Investment and Trading Corporation (SCIC). Previously, SCG’s subsidiary became a major shareholder of the largest plastic enterprise on the stock exchange since 2012. It is estimated that Nawaplastic spent a total of about 2,750 billion VND to own the current amount of BMP shares.
Favorable business helps Binh Minh Plastics maintain a history of paying regular cash dividends. Since the golden pagoda’s shareholders contributed capital until now, this enterprise has always distributed profits to shareholders at the lowest rate of 20% and the highest rate of up to 126%. Accumulated total dividends from 2012 to present, Nawaplastic has received a total of more than 3,200 billion VND. Thus, just from dividends, they made a profit of about 18.5% in this deal.
In addition, on the stock exchange, shares of Binh Minh Plastics were trading at 151,600 VND per unit as of the end of last week. Thus, the value of BMP shares owned by SCG’s subsidiary is worth more than 6,800 billion VND, 2.5 times the initial capital.
