The gas station was fined 40 million VND for arbitrarily increasing prices

Nghe AnArbitrarily adjusting the retail price of gasoline at the wrong time as prescribed by the distributor, Thanh Binh gas station in Duc Chau commune was fined 40 million VND.

On July 21, the Market Management Department of Nghe An province announced administrative sanctions against Thanh Binh Petroleum Private Enterprise, according to Decree 80/2023 of the Government.

Previously, on July 10, Market Management Team No. 1 coordinated with Duc Chau Commune Police to inspect Thanh Binh gas station in Dong Ha hamlet, Duc Chau commune (formerly in Dien Chau district).

Authorities discovered a store listing and selling E10 RON 95-III gasoline for 23,999 VND per liter. This level is higher than the price announced by the distributor – Branch of Giang Nam Petroleum Company Limited in Ha Tinh, at the same time.

Authorities determined that Thanh Binh gas station violated continuously from June 26 to July 10, with a total consumption of 733 liters and illegal profits of nearly 2.5 million VND.

Since the end of February, domestic petroleum has fluctuated due to the impact of the Middle East conflict, but is now more stable although there are still unpredictable risks. From the beginning of June until now, domestic retail gasoline prices have been adjusted 8 times. After the operating period on July 16, each liter of E10 RON 95-III gasoline was 20,550 VND, about 1,750 VND cheaper than in early June.

With this adjustment, the Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the retail price of gasoline in Vietnam is currently about 4,800-22,000 VND lower than in Cambodia, Thailand, China and Laos. Diesel oil is also 2,900-10,600 VND lower than in these countries.
