How do bodycams work?
The introduction of bodycams for all operational staff is the next step an experimental path started in 2025 and implemented in four regions – Liguria, Puglia, Tuscany and Lombardy – which allowed the effectiveness of the devices to be tested in the field, laying the foundations for the progressive extension to all staff. The results of the testing phase confirmed the strategic value of these tools for combating episodes of aggression, with a view to prevention, deterrence and greater safety in the most exposed operational contexts.
Bodycams are integrated with the Security Control Roomdeveloped by FS Technology for the management of live and recorded video streams. If the alarm device is activated, the system allows the operator’s position to be detected in real time and to automatically send a report to the operations room. In this way, Control Room staff can acquire immediate information on the intervention in progress, geolocate the operator and simultaneously access the images and audio transmitted by the device.
An additional protective measure
The adoption of bodycams is part of the technological innovation initiatives developed by FS for consolidate the prevention and safety management system. The introduction of these tools allows us to further increase the protection measures dedicated to staff working in the field and to contribute to the creation of a safer operating and travel environment for passengers and staff of the FS Group.
