STOCK EXCHANGE: Huhtamäki rises after the results announcement, Kempower plunges

The Helsinki Stock Exchange opened on a busy results day with a decrease of 0.4 percent to 13,363 points. The price reaction was mainly negative, although Huhtamäki and Componenta were on a rapid rise. Exchange rate reactions and exchanges have been compiled in the table at the end of the article.

Network equipment company Nokian comparable operating profit rose to 434 million euros from 367 million euros. Analysts predicted 385 million euros.

The company made a technical update to this year’s guidelines. Nokia expects the comparable operating profit to reach 2.1–2.6 billion euros this year, while previously the range was 2.0–2.5 billion euros.

“In the second quarter, the orders received from artificial intelligence and cloud service customers were 2.8 billion euros and sales more than doubled compared to the previous year”, CEO Justin Hotard comment.

Packaging company Huhtamäki the result exceeded expectations. The company’s instructions remained unchanged. Huhtamäki expects business conditions to remain relatively stable during 2026.

Forestry company Stora Enson adjusted operating profit in April–June was 160 million euros, while at the same time last year it was 126 million euros. Analysts expected an adjusted operating profit of 174 million euros from the company.

“Demand remained subdued in many markets, and geopolitical tensions added to uncertainty during the quarter. The Iran conflict had implications for rising energy, logistics and other input costs,” CEO Hans Sohlström stated in the earnings release.

Manufacturer of charging solutions for electric vehicles of Kempower the operative operating profit was EUR 1.9 million in loss in April–June, while the forecast of seven analysts compiled by Modular Finance expected the company to have an operational operating profit of EUR 0.3 million.

Kempower lowered the upper limit of its turnover guidelines for the current year. The company now expects 2026 turnover to grow by 10-25 percent compared to 2025, while previously the company expected a 10-30 percent increase.

Kempower has launched a fixed cost reduction program to adjust its cost structure to reflect the market situation and new strategic priorities.

Health service company Pihlajalinna the result fell short of expectations. The turnover of the health service company decreased from the previous year as a result of the outsourcing contracts that ended and the divestments of housing services. The company warned about its result yesterday.

Forestry company UPM:n the result exceeded analysts’ expectations. The company’s comparable operating profit in April–June was 212 million euros, while analysts expected 210 million euros.

Managing director Maximus Reynaudon according to the ongoing portfolio renewal emphasizes the company’s position in businesses with stronger growth characteristics, and the direction is towards products with higher added value and less cyclicality.

Shipping company Tallink Gruppin the net result was EUR 2.5 million in loss in April–June. At the same time last year, the net result was also EUR 2.5 million in loss.

The company states in its outlook that the escalation of the situation in the Middle East has disrupted energy supply chains and increased fuel prices, which directly affects the company’s operating expenses. In addition, geopolitical uncertainty can affect consumer confidence and travel demand in the company’s main markets

Contract manufacturer for the engineering industry Componentan the operating result in April–June was 3.3 million euros, exceeding Inderes’ forecast. The operating result at the same time last year was 1.3 million euros.
