British holding company Circeus has acquired Israeli startup Dondy, which has developed a WhatsApp marketing system for online stores. The amount of the transaction has not been disclosed, but, according to TheMarker journalist Ophir Dor, it is estimated at several million dollars.
Dondy was created in 2024 by childhood friends from Kiryat Ono, Tamir Or and Or Schreiber, and Inbal Katz-Or. The company has not attracted external funding and operates with a team of seven people. Its system is used by about 70 thousand stores on Shopify, including Miss Sixty and Mashbir Le-Tsarkhan.
The program automatically sends messages to customers about items left in the cart without checking out, discounts and repeat purchases, and also answers questions using AI. Circeus intends to maintain Dondy as an independent company and expand its activities.
