Israeli government will promote ban on forced labor

As Calcalist reports, government economic adviser Avi Simhon is coordinating contacts with the American administration and at the same time preparing a draft resolution banning the import of goods made using forced labor, which will be submitted to the next government meeting on Sunday.

Let us recall that at the end of last week, the US presidential administration published a list of 60 trading partners that are expected to be subject to new duties in connection with violation of the ban on the use of forced labor.

Israel is included in the list of countries for which the duty will be 12.5%, not 10%.

According to the publication, Simkhon yesterday began preparing a draft resolution providing for a complete ban on the import of goods made using forced labor, and will consider it within the next few days.
