VN-Index increased more than 27 points

The large-cap basket soared, in which FPT hit the ceiling and had no sellers, helping VN-Index accumulate more than 27 points in the early August trading session.

Although the market went down in the last session of July, many analysis groups still lean towards the scenario that the VN-Index can soon recover because the profit-taking pressure is no longer strong. Some believe that the index representing Ho Chi Minh City stock exchange will rise to 1,760-1,780 points this week when cash flow returns to “surfing” the leading codes in banking, retail, and technology sectors.

In fact, VN-Index moved throughout the first session of August above reference. The index at one point reached nearly 1,770 points, then narrowed to 1,763 points, an increase of 27 points. This is the highest price range in the past three weeks. Compared to the short-term bottom set at the end of last month, the index has recovered nearly 6%.

VN30 today increased by 45 points, to nearly 1,920 points.

Ho Chi Minh City floor was covered in green with 245 increasing codes, more than 3 times more than decreasing codes. The large-cap basket was more differentiated with 23 codes closing above reference, while the losers had only 5 codes.

FPT was in the most excited state when it hit the ceiling of 71,700 VND, contributing nearly 2 points to the overall index. This code leads in liquidity with matched orders of more than 16 million units, equivalent to 1,150 billion VND, while the pending purchase volume is over 1.5 million units.

By industry, stocks are the most prosperous group. Most of the pillar stocks of this group such as SSI, VPX, VIX, VCI all accumulated more than 2% compared to the reference.

In the banking group, MBB at one point hit the ceiling of 24,050 VND, then narrowed the increase margin to 6.7%. Large capitalization codes such as SHB, TCB, CTG, HDB, ACB, VCB… ranked next with a margin of over 2.5%.

Real estate stocks are also trading actively. Small-cap codes such as LDG, CII, DIG, DXG all increased more than 5%. On the contrary, some leading codes such as VIC, VHM and NLG closed below reference and restrained the index’s increase.

The retail group also recovered strongly. PNJ and FRT both increased to the limit today, while MWG added 4%.

Liquidity on Ho Chi Minh City floor in the first session of the week was approximately VND 19,300 billion, a slight increase compared to the weekend. Besides FPT, cash flow focuses on pillar codes such as HPG, VIC, VHM, SHB, SSI.

Foreign investors showed signs of improvement when disbursing more than 3,200 billion VND, the highest level in three weeks, while selling less than 2,200 billion VND. HPG is the focus of attracting foreign capital with a net purchase of nearly 13 million shares.

According to the analysis team of Yuanta Vietnam Securities Company, with current developments, adventurous investors can buy new leading stocks to ride the T+ wave because short-term risks have almost been reflected. For medium-term holding investors, disbursement should be done at adjustment intervals.
