Putin demanded from “unfriendly countries” to buy gas for rubles

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia refuses to accept payment for gas in “currencies that have compromised themselves” and “unfriendly states” will have to switch to payments in rubles. According to him, natural gas is only the beginning.

Putin said that the rejection of dollars and euros will not affect the volume of deliveries and prices – they will correspond to previously concluded contracts. “Unlike some colleagues, we value our business reputation as a reliable partner and supplier,” he said.

According to the Russian leader, Western countries will have to buy rubles on the domestic Russian market. Recall that earlier the United States and the EU states imposed an embargo on the supply of dollars and euros to Russia.
