NTT Data definitively closes the 'Everis era' with the departure of Eduardo Serra from the presidency

NTT Data has finally shelved the last vestige of the old Everis with the departure of Eduardo Serra of the presidency of the technology consulting firm and the reorganization of the firm’s Board of Directors in Europe and Latin America, an area that is managed from Spain.

The Japanese company NTT Data bought the Spanish consulting firm Everis in 2013which, despite the change in ownership, maintained its brand identity until the end of 2021 when the corporate image of the entire group was unified to unite it with that of its parent company.

Since then, there have been several changes in the management of the company in Spain, the last of them the departure of Sergi Biosca as CEO in October 2023 and his replacement by another man of the house: Victor López-Barrantes.

Following the departure of Serra, who will remain as an external advisor to the group, the rest of the Spanish independent directors have also resigned: Pedro Luis Uriarteformer CEO of BBVA; Zulueta Pillaradvisor among others to Dorna Sports and who had also been advising the group since the Everis stage; Alejandro Ferreiro, former Minister of Economy of Chile; and Monica de Oriolpresident of Net4Things.

The company frames the change in the Board in the restructuring of the company, which has not closed the door for these independent directors to be replaced by a new shortlist of members. Until then, the Council will be made up entirely of directors of the company, which employs more than 20,000 people in Spain.

Reorganization at a global level

The measure taken regarding operations in Spain occurs in a context of reconfiguration of the group worldwide. NTT Data emerged as a spin off of technological services of the NTT operator, acronym for Japan Telephone and Telegraph Corporation.

Now, the group has decided to centralize part of its business again in NTT DATA Inc to create a leading technology services company that will have 140,000 workers globally and do business in more than 80 countries.
