Stocks today April 3: red stocks

VN-Index today dropped nearly 16 points when red dominated the board, all 30 bluechip codes closed below reference.

Red covers the electricity board in today’s session. VN-Index opened below reference, trading struggled until the end of the morning session. Selling pressure prevailed, but the stock holders did not lower prices drastically. Meanwhile, buyers are only listing at low price ranges waiting for market movements.

In the afternoon session, the trend did not change much. The market had a slight recovery to near reference before 2:00 p.m. However, selling pressure increased sharply in the middle of the afternoon session, forcing many stocks to retreat, the decrease amplitude of VN-Index exceeded 10 points.

Selling pressure dominated until the close, with the VN-Index falling 15.57 points (1.21%) to 1,271.47 points. VN30-Index lost more than 18 points (1.4%) to 1,274 points. On the Hanoi floor, HNX-Index and UPCOM-Index both closed in red.

Red dominated at the end of the session, with 368 codes decreasing on HoSE, compared to 130 codes increasing. As for the large capitalization group, all 30 blue chips closed below reference.

Market liquidity remained at a high level with transaction value on HoSE reaching more than 27,400 billion VND, of which the VN30 group recorded more than 9,800 billion VND.

In the large capitalization group, the decrease range is commonly around 1-2%. GVR, CTG, MWG are the three codes with the strongest decline with 2.7%, MBB, VIB, SSI, HDB lost over 2% of market price, banking codes, consumer goods, and steel decreased over 1%.

Sacombank’s STB stock liquidity ranked first in the blue-chip group with nearly 27 million shares changed hands, equal to 1/4 of yesterday’s record session.

Vingroup group fell the least in today’s session, with VIC, VHM and VRE only losing 0.1-0.2% of market price.

In the mid-cap group, the red color also spread. Recently noticed groups such as real estate, construction, and stocks mostly closed below reference. On the contrary, some codes of fertilizer, oil and gas, and seafood groups remained green.
