INPS will use artificial intelligence to match job supply and demand

The Siisl platform – Information System for Social and Work Inclusion, established at the Ministry of Labor and managed by INPS – applies Artificial Intelligence and offers, on an experimental basis to the beneficiaries of Training and Work Support (Sfl) and of theInclusion Allowance (Adi) who access the platform in the job activation process, the job offers most suited to their professional profile. With the use of artificial intelligence, the System calculates, in fact, a “affinity index” of the job offers present on SIISL with respect to each curriculum vitae. It is, in fact, an indicative indicator that represents the level of compatibility between the selected curriculum vitae and the job offer and has the objective of simplifying user interaction with the database.

The affinity index is based on machine learning algorithms, capable of processing natural language and evaluating the semantic proximity between the textual fields present in the job offer and those displayed in the curriculum vitae.

“With the application of AI – states the general director of INPS, Vincenzo Caridi – the system wanted by the Minister of Labor Marina Calderone provides citizens and employment agencies with a powerful tool that facilitates the concrete search for work The next steps we will take, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Sviluppo Lavoro Italia and Inapp will be oriented towards improving the matching and quality of training courses through the use of updated skills maps, applied at national and European level ( e.g. Atlas, ESCO) and through comparison between them skills required by the market and those covered by the training offer”.
