Porn sites will be monitored more strictly than before.
Soon adult entertainment site Pornhub, Stripchat and Xvideos must comply with the strictest obligations in the EU’s digital services regulations (DSA).
With the new legislation, porn websites will be monitored more strictly than before, for example with regard to risks related to minors. Britain’s the BBC said in late 2023 that in practice this could mean verifying the user’s age.
To Pornhub and Stripchat’s additional regulations take effect on Sunday, April 21, and Xvideos’ regulations on Tuesday, April 23.
All three porn sites are Very Large Online platforms, i.e. platforms with more than 45 million users in the EU.
