Huge differences in electricity bills for Finns: Basic payment up to €40/month

There are almost tenfold differences in electricity transfer fees between companies, informs Omakotiliitto.

Small house residents’ interest organization Home association compared electricity transmission prices.

In the comparison, according to Omakotiliito, the basic fee for the transfer is EUR 4.70 at the cheapest and EUR 40.66 at the most expensive per month.

The most expensive transfer was the basic fee Järvi-Suomen Energia. Next, the most expensive basic transfer prices were In Kajave39.5 euros per month, and With Koorevesi Sähkö39.48 euros per month.

According to the report, the cheapest basic fee for the transfer was on the other hand with Kerava Energy. The next cheapest transfer fee was Tampereen Energia Sähköverkola4.77 euros per month, and At Haukiputaa Sähkoosuuskunnta4.81 euros per month.

When, instead of the basic fee, the energy fee for electricity transmission, i.e. the kilowatt-hour price, was compared, the most expensive price was With Enontekiö Sähkö6.75 cents, and the cheapest At Rovakaira1.69 cents.

Spending habits and type of living determine which is emphasized on the electricity bill, the basic transfer fee or the energy fee.

The survey also revealed that 38 companies, or almost half, had increased their prices since last year. Two companies lowered the price and 37 kept the price unchanged.

Energy Agency confirmed a new supervision model last year, on the basis of which it supervises the pricing of electricity transmission companies. The model has aroused strong opposition in electricity transmission companies, such as Talouselämä previously written. Almost all distribution network companies in Finland demand a change in the control model in the market court.

Chairman of the Association of Home Owners Ari Rehnfors on the other hand, says in the press release that the union would like even more drastic measures to lower electricity transmission prices.

“The control model that guarantees the profits of monopoly companies is still not fair, so we continue to influence to lower transfer prices. At the same time, we will monitor how the new control model achieves its goal, i.e. curbing electricity transfer prices,” says Rehnfors in the press release.

The survey on electricity transmission prices was carried out by Omakotiliito KTI Kiinteistötieto.

Correction 8.5. at 1:36 p.m.: The second cheapest basic fee for electricity transmission was with Tampereen Energia Sähköverko, not with Haukiputaa Sähkösuuskunna, as mentioned earlier in the story.
