Istanbul: a Boeing 767 emergency lands on its belly after a landing gear failure

More fear than harm at Istanbul airport. This Wednesday, May 8, a FedEx cargo plane had to land on the tarmac without landing gear at the front. Approaching the runway, the pilot of the Boeing 767 coming from Paris-Charles de Gaulle informed the control tower that the nose gear was not deploying. On alert, the rescue and firefighting teams were able to quickly position themselves on the track for prevention.

In the images relayed on social networks, we see the Boeing placing its rear wheels on the tarmac, before scraping the ground with the nose of the aircraft. An extremely risky maneuver which caused no casualties. Immediately, several emergency trucks entered the runway to spray the plane with firefighting foam. The runway on which the aircraft landed was temporarily closed to air traffic. This incident is part of a series of plane damages at Boeing. Under investigation, the group is now in turmoil.
