The White Stripes sue Trump for using ‘Seven Nation Army’ song without permission

Jack White y Meg White members of The White Stripes have filed a complaint in New York against Donald Trump and his deputy communications director Margo Martin for Using the song ‘Seven Nation Army’ without permission in a video for the election campaign, according to ‘Variety’.

The artists have accused the presidential candidate of “blatant misappropriation” after Martin used the song in an X-rated video featuring Donald Trump boarding a plane last August.

Don’t even think about using my music, fascists.“Jack White warned in a caption on Instagram on August 29, where he shared the Trump video.

The singer shared a photo on Instagram showing a page of the complaint. “This machine sues the fascists“, he posted. According to ‘Variety’, the complaint states that Trump did not request or obtain permission or endorsement from the band to use their music, nor did his campaign respond to pre-litigation efforts to resolve the issue.

He also points out that Trump and his associates knew or should have known that the use was unauthorized and violated their rights under the Copyright Act..

The group joins the list of musicians and bands who have complained to Trump for using their songs without permission, such as Neil Young, Beyoncé, Foo Fighters or Céline Dion.
