Helene Bubrowski leaves Table Media: “FAZ” gets a woman as editor for the first time

She will therefore also lead the political editorial team together with editor Berthold Kohler, which will once again have dual leadership. She will also manage the online editorial team with additional editor Carsten Knop.

Bubrowski succeeds Gerald Braunberger on the editorial board, who, according to the newspaper, will retire at the end of September. He previously headed the business editorial team at the “FAZ”, and Knop is taking over this task.

Bubrowski, who has a doctorate in law and Theodor Wolff Prize winner, worked as a political editor and then as capital editor of the “FAZ” from 2013 to 2023 before moving to the Table Briefings portal in 2024. She has been editor-in-chief there since last year.

The chairman of the “FAZ” editorial board, Kohler, said the company was very pleased about Bubrowski’s return. “She is an outstanding journalist who, as the first female editor in the newspaper’s history, will help lead the FAZ into a good future.”

In addition to Kohler, Knop and the outgoing Braunberger, Jürgen Kaube is also “FAZ” editor. He is responsible for the features section.
