Urtasun visits Cannes this Saturday to attend the screening of ‘The loved one’ by Sorogoyen

The Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasunwill visit the Cannes Festival this Saturday, May 16, to support the Spanish presence in the Marché du Film of the French festival and will attend the first screening of ‘The loved one’by Rodrigo Sorogoyen, which is up for the Palme d’Or along with ‘Bitter Christmas’by Pedro Almodóvar, and ‘The black ball’, from The Javis.

According to Culture, The minister will tour the Marché du Film and will later attend to the media at the Spanish stand. Previously, Urtasun will hold a meeting with professionals from the audiovisual sector participating in the Cannes market.

Later, at 6 p.m., the minister will attend the first screening of the feature film ‘The loved one’, by Sorogoyen. In addition, he will meet with his French counterpart, Catherine Pégard.

On April 9, the Minister of Culture celebrated the Spanish triplet to compete for the Palme d’Or. “Historic day for our cinema!” he stressed on the social network Instagram. Urtasun congratulated the selected filmmakers and wished them “very good luck.”

“Above all, I say that it is a source of pride as Minister of Culture to see the extent to which our Spanish cinema is at an extraordinary level at this time,” he said.
