Against the background of the publicized conflict: the awkward meeting of Taylor Swift and Scooter Braun

The biggest rivals of the music industry in recent years, Taylor Swift and music producer Scooter Braun, who as you remember were at the center of a huge storm over the copyrights of Swift’s albums, were recorded on Wednesday night sitting a tiny distance from each other during the NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden and managed to steal all the focus from the game.

While Swift took a seat in the front row on the court next to her good friends from the band “Haim”, Brown sat just a few rows behind her, accompanied by his famous partner, Sidney Sweeney. It is not clear if the two exchanged glances or words during the game, but considering their proximity – neither of them had to strain their eyes to distinguish the other.

As you remember, the conflict between the two exploded in 2019, when Brown bought the record company “Big Machine” and together with it the master rights to Swift’s first six albums. The singer, who found out about the sale through the media, publicly condemned Brown and stated that she was disgusted by his behavior. Brown, on the other hand, claimed that he acted legally and without any malicious intent.

But Swift did not stay obliged and decided to redefine the rules of the game: in August of that year, she announced a dramatic step – a re-recording of all her early albums, to deprive Brown of the profits on her works. The ambitious project became a phenomenal success, and Swift released her albums under the Taylor’s Version label, a move that gave her back control over her works.

In May of last year, the struggle was officially over when Swift announced on her official website that she had repurchased the master recordings of her first six albums: “I’m trying to gather my thoughts into coherent sentences, but right now my head is like a slide show, like a sequence of flashbacks of all the times I’ve daydreamed, hoped, longed and yearned for the opportunity to announce this news, after twenty years of hope shattered over and over again, almost I stopped believing it could happen, but all that belongs to the past now.”
