This is the punishment for the employee who tried to sell Kate Middleton’s medical file

An employee at the “London Clinic”, the prestigious private hospital where Kate Middleton was hospitalized, was fired in disgrace and stripped of his business license, after an investigation revealed that he tried to look into her medical file while she was there.

It turns out that that staff member didn’t just peek out of curiosity, but did so on purpose and even offered the sensitive information for sale in order to make a buck on it. The British Privacy Protection Authority (ICO) determined that this was a “gross breach of trust” and “misuse of highly sensitive personal information”.

Let’s recall that in January 2024. Kate was secretly hospitalized in the posh clinic in the Marylebone neighborhood in London for planned abdominal surgery, and stayed there for no less than 13 days. At the very same time, King Charles was also hospitalized in the same hospital for treatment of an enlarged prostate (during which, as we know, the doctors discovered a form of cancer in him). While social media was abuzz with rumors and conspiracies about Kate’s condition, the same employee decided to rummage through her files. The story was first revealed in the Mirror in March 2024, which stunned medical staff.

After a long investigation of more than two years, the ICO authority decided to settle for an “official warning” only instead of filing a criminal case against him or fining him huge sums, but he was completely dismissed from his position and removed from the profession.

Although Middleton has every right to file a civil suit against him for the invasion of privacy – sources report that she has no intention of doing so. Remember, just three days after this affair broke, Kate released a personal and emotional video in which she shared with the world that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

At the “London Clinic”, which is used to quietly and confidentially treating royals, heads of government and celebrities, at the time they rushed to reassure Buckingham Palace that King Charles’s files remained safe and had not been broken into. The hospital spokeswoman said this week that they are happy that this “sad and isolated” incident has come to an end, and emphasized that no systemic failures were found on their part.

And how did Kensington Palace react to the results of the investigation? In the best British tradition, they simply refused to comment.
