After the sudden death of actress Luna Jordan, filming for the Beatles series “Hamburg Days” has resumed. Filming was temporarily suspended after the Berlin actress died in May at the age of 25.
“The team took the time to create space for the initial processing of the tragic loss and to say goodbye to the valued actress and colleague,” said a statement about the production. Filming will now continue in Hamburg.
Jordan was supposed to play a photographer
Jordan’s death caused consternation in the film industry and beyond. Over the course of her career, she has appeared in “Polizeiruf” and in the series “Jen beyond the Spree” with Jürgen Vogel. She received the Austrian Film Prize for the film “Fuchs im Bau”.

In the new series she was supposed to play the photographer Astrid Kirchherr. The role will now be taken on by Lea Drinda (“Looking into the Sun”, “Where’s Wanda”), the production announced. Asa Butterfield (“Sex Education”) and Jonny Lee Miller (“The Crown,” “Trainspotting”) will also star.
The series “Hamburg Days” is intended to tell the story of the beginnings of the Beatles and is produced for ZDF and the BBC, among others.
