Artist’s books, ‘San Francesco’ by Alfonso Masullo, limited edition

On the occasion of the celebrations for theEight hundredth anniversary since the death of Saint Francis of Assisithe publishing house Consulting Art Srl Of Raffaele Tortorella announces the creation of a new, exclusive artist’s book. The work bears the signature of Alfonso Masulloexecutive and export manager di Consulting Artwho as artistic and editorial director managed to create a one-of-a-kind volume.

Thanks to meticulous planning and attention to the smallest details in the conceptual phase, every single example of the limited edition is configured as a piece of art in its own right, different from all the others. The volume, entitled “Saint Francis of Assisi. A young Saint of 800 years old“, is embellished by the work of the Maestro Alexander Romanointernationally renowned sculptor and the only living artist to boast four monumental marble sculptures placed inside the historic Michelangelo niches in the St. Peter’s Basilica in Vaticano.

The works and artistic details

For this extraordinary edition, the Maestro Romano he created both the prototype of the face of Saint Francis – imprinted on the medal coined byAncient Mint of Lucca and set in the center of the special Murano glass cover – let it be eight o’clock tipped-in plates which retrace and narrate the most significant and intense moments of the life of the Saint of Assisi.

The contributions and the limited edition

Two important factors contribute to enriching the scientific and cultural value of the work textual contributions. The first, signed by Monsignor Felice Accroccabishop of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino e di Foligno and the second by the teacher and art historian Francesco Gallo Mazzeo. The work is in limited edition of 256 specimens in total.
