Warnings are spreading on social media about Zara pants, which are said to have knocked over their wearers

Many have apparently taken, fallen and hurt themselves.

The Spanish clothing brand Zara’s thin, airy summer pants with very wide and long legs became an instant viral hit when people started posting pictures on Tiktok and Instagram of the bruises they claim the pants caused them: bruises on the knees, wounds on the hands, even fractures.

That’s why the pants are now known on social media as “killer pants”, “death pants” or “Zara’s death pants.” They write about it, among other things CBC and New York Post.

In Finland, the pants are sold under the name “Leveät Rennot houstonie”. They really feel relaxed and loose. The legs are so long that when I pull them on, the thick-soled sneakers peek out from under the legs. A possible fall with them on your feet immediately starts to make you nervous.

It’s time move. After just a few steps, I feel how thin the fabric is left under one heel. I feel a small jerk, but the pants stay on and the balance doesn’t fail.

I test walking with pants on different surfaces. I don’t dare to walk on the stairs without holding on to the railing, just to be sure. This one feels a twitch under the heel. The danger of computerization is always present.

It wouldn’t even occur to me to walk as usual, briskly. Under no circumstances would I dare wear pants with thin-soled summer sandals or flip flops.

The threat is not only the length of the legs, but the fluttering wide legs that can wrap around the legs.

Social media videos have called for a warning sign on the pants, and one CBC interviewee hopes Zara will withdraw the pants because “they almost killed him.”

He broke his wrist and got a big wound on his temple. He also says that his glasses and watch are broken. Another person says he broke his knee.

One social media influencer posted a video of him tripping on the sidewalk in his pants and then showing himself cleaning up his bloody elbow.

This summer, wide trousers can be seen a lot in the street scene and in clothing stores. Vogue wide-legged pants are among the few wardrobe staples that really suit almost everyone and almost every situation.

But you have to be careful with them. Even if you stay upright, one thing is certain, extra long legs will not stay clean for long.
