FlixOlé pays tribute to Tony Leblanc this Friday with two premieres and a collection of his best works

FlixOlé will perform this Friday, July 24, tribute to the comic actor Tony Leblancwho died in 2012, when taking a tour of his film career with the collection ‘Tony Leblanc: universal Madrid native’.

The audiovisual tribute will include such notable titles as ‘La revoltosa’ (1950), ‘Historias de la radio’ (1955), ‘The girls in blue’ (1957), ‘The girls of the Red Cross’ (1958), ‘The tiger of Chamberí’ (1958), ‘The cheaters’ (1959), ‘Love below zero’ (1960), ‘The astronaut’ (1970) or ‘The man who wanted to kill’ (1970).

The cycle, which includes twenty-seven films, is completed with the premiere on the platform of two works by the actor: ‘Those who play the piano’ (Javier Aguirre, 1968) and ‘The dynamite is served’ (Fernando Merino, 1968).

The career of Ignacio Fernández Sánchez, his real name, It was not limited to cinema, since he was also one of the great figures of theater and magazines, a good singer and a television face. He even became a professional boxer. Both released in 1968, they were two comedies produced under the protection of José Luis Dibildos.

The first of them, of the picaresque genrecaptures the spirit of titles such as the aforementioned ‘Los Tramposos’ to show three thieves who, after meeting Federico (Manolo Gómez Bur) and his new robbery techniques imported from abroad, begin to be more ambitious in their heists, although this will cause them to face bigger problems than they are used to.

Furthermore, in ‘Those who play the piano’ secondary actors such as José Bódalo, José Sazatornil or Rafaela Aparicio intervene. The title of the film refers to the similarity between playing the piano and stamping fingerprints at the police station for the police file.

The actor managed to become a multifaceted figure who took over the Spanish billboards during the 50s, 60s and early 70s and which, with a serious accident, was forgotten for twenty years. At the end of the 90s, Santiago Segura rescued him for ‘Torrente’.
