Thomas Bangalter, Quentin Dupieux, Oxmo Puccino… The world of culture pays a final tribute to Kavinsky

His disappearance on July 28 in his Parisian home saddened the world of culture. This Wednesday morning, directors, producers and managers of major labels gathered in Paris where, around 10:30 a.m., a religious ceremony in tribute to Kavinsky was celebrated. The mass was held in the Saint-Pierre de Montmartre church, in this 18th century district.^e district of the capital where the pioneer of the French Touch lived for a long time.

Dozens of fans gathered near the religious building to honor one last time the memory of the author of the hit Nightcall. Among the guests were the artist’s companion, fashion designer Gaëlle Constantini. Many colleagues also made the trip to the capital, like Thomas Bangalter, member of Daft Punk, but also Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay, tandem of the electro group Justice. The boss of Universal Music France, Olivier Nusse, was also seen at the entrance to the church, as was the rapper Oxmo Puccino and the Argentinian director Gaspar Noé.

Filmmaker Quentin Dupieux, who offered Kavinsky two film roles in the mid-2000s, also participated in the ceremony. In the same way as Romain Gavras, who worked on the visual universe and the music video for the title Cameo of Kavinsky in 2022. After the religious ceremony, the French DJ’s coffin was transported to the Saint-Vincent cemetery in Montmartre for burial. A symbolic place for this artist attached to this district in the north of Paris, which inspired his character Kavinsky.
