The musician Michelangelo Chastang, a pioneer of jazz in Spain and former director of the SGAE, has died at the age of 69, as confirmed by the copyright entity itself, of which he was a part.

A pioneer of jazz in Spain, Chastang also made his way in the United States, where he studied with Ron Carter and worked with numerous artists of the genre. He was one of the first Spanish musicians to adopt the double bass professionally.
