“King Charles frustrated by his slow recovery”
Almost two months have passed since Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles was diagnosed with cancer. Now it turns out that the king has already exhausted the matter and wants very much to return to functioning normally. “He’s very frustrated that he can’t go on and do everything he wants,” said a close family member

As the world continues to process the unfortunate news of Kate Middleton’s cancer, the royal family is also facing the cancer of King Charles, who is also undergoing treatment. On Thursday, Queen Camilla updated her husband’s condition during a royal visit to Belfast, saying His Majesty was “doing very well”. Now, Charles’ nephew, Princess Anne’s son Peter Phillips, has shared another, albeit more detailed, update on the king’s health.

In a new interview with Sky News Australia, a member of the royal family shared that the king is eager to get back to work. “He’s in a good mood. Ultimately, he’s very frustrated that he can’t go on and do everything he wants. But he’s very pragmatic, he understands that there’s a period of time where he really needs to focus on himself,” Phillips told host Caroline Di Russo.

“But at the same time, he’s always pushing his team and everybody, his doctors and nurses, and he’s always asking, ‘Can I do this and that?’ wants to”.

In a statement issued by Buckingham Palace on February 5, in which they informed the public that the King had been diagnosed with an unknown type of cancer, it was revealed that His Majesty “has been advised by doctors to postpone his commitments” as he maintains a “regular treatment schedule”.

Phillips also spoke about the public support for both King Charles and Kate, saying it was “very encouraging”. He went on to call the Princess of Wales “amazing” and said Kate and Prince William “make a fantastic team together”, praising the way they balance public life with parenting their three young children – George, Charlotte and Louis.

Phillips’ update comes shortly after the Princess of Wales announced that she too has an unknown type of cancer. In a video message released to the public last Friday, Kate said she is currently undergoing “preventive chemotherapy” after cancer was discovered in her body following stomach surgery in January. Like Charles, Kate has also expressed an interest in returning to her job when she is healthy enough to do so. “My work has always brought me a deep sense of joy and I look forward to returning when I can, but for now, I must focus on a full recovery,” she said.
