Fayez Qazaq: I participate in 4 social activities during Ramadan

During the Ramadan season, Syrian star Fayez Qazaq appears in 4 social works, during which he plays different roles that satisfy his convictions as an actor. Qazaq points out that he belongs to the artistic community to some extent, and that he is waiting for the public’s reaction to his new works, although he believes that the opportunities for him were better last year.

– I participate in 4 works: “The Girlfriends,” “Close Your Eyes,” “Pride, O Sham,” and “Kisar Azam -2- The Catacombs.”

These works are of the social type and my roles in them are different. In “Friends” I play the role of a very ordinary man whose circumstances change, and he becomes rich and then one of those with wealth and controls people. It is directed by Muhammad Zuhair Ragab and written by Ahmed Al-Sayyid. As for the series “Close Your Eyes.” “I present the character of the poor and miserable man. It was written by Ahmed Al-Mulla and Louay Al-Nouri, and directed by Moamen Al-Mulla. In the series “Ezak Ya Sham,” I play the role of an obstinate father whose sick fear for his son drives him to imprison him in the house, and “Breaking the Basement Bones” is written by Hilal Al-Ahmad and Rand Hadid, directed by Kenan Iskandarani.

  • How do you see the current situation of Syrian Ramadan drama?

-We can talk about the experience after its presentation is complete.

  • What is meant by the production level and the dramatic wheel?

– I do not follow these details, but rather leave when I finish filming.

  • But you are an artist and belong to the middle?

-I belong to it to some extent… I am in the middle, but at the same time I am outside of it!

  • How do you compare what you offered this year with what you presented last year?

The situation was better for me, but I do not know what my situation will be like this year. This depends on the public’s reaction.

  • Does this upset you?

-No, even if the opportunities were better last year.. I have been in theater for 40 years and I work in television drama when the appropriate opportunities are available.

  • Does the actor sometimes find himself forced to accept work that he is not completely convinced of?

-This matter is up to the actor himself, and I only exist in works that I am completely convinced of.

  • That is, you choose the best among what exists?

-This is correct.

  • Is the actor upset because his fame is achieved through television, and not through theater, which satisfies him morally?

-I saw Anthony Hopkins twice on stage in London. He worked there for forty years, and people knew nothing about him except his wages. When he went to the cinema and put his theatrical experience into it, he became a star and won an Oscar.
