The Real Teatro de Retiro explores the limits of the stage this Saturday in the premiere of the dance 'Va de Bach'

The Royal Theater of Retiro will present next Saturday, April 13, the premiere of Bach’s Va, a show in which through the music of Johann Sebastian Bach the Aracaladanza company explores and deconstructs the limits of the stage with new choreographies that seek to bring contemporary dance to new spectators.

The company, according to the Real Teatro de Retiro, aims to free the imagination of an audience of all ages -recommended from four years old- to enjoy without prejudices or rules the music of a composer whose work they define as “more than creative beauty.” , more than technical perfection and more than intellectual depth”. “Bach is spiritual purity and absolute imagination.”assures Aracaladanza.

The performances will take place on April 13, 14, 20 and 21, in a double session at 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The production is based on the original idea of ​​Enrique Cabrera, director, choreographer and founder of Aracaladanza. ‘Va de Bach’ It takes shape through a sad gorilla, a giant hand and five dancers from the company: Carolina Arija, Jonatan de Luis, Jimena Trueba, Aleix Rodríguez and Lydia Martínez, performers and choreographic creators, and the participation of the actress Carla Maró.

Together they build a show without a conventional plot or narrative structure in which they seek to delve into a creative universe that allows anyone who opens their eyes and tunes their ears to imagine freely.. The Spanish composer Luis Miguel Cobo has been in charge of adapting some of Bach’s pieces that will be heard in the performance.

Fragments of ‘Badinerie, Orchestral Suite Nº2, BWV 1067’ will be heard; the ‘Prelude No. 2 in C minor from The Well-Tempered Clavier, BWV 847’; the ‘Aria Ja, tausendmal tausend begleiten den Wagen’ from the Cantata Gott fähret auf mit Jauchzen BWV 43 and the Brandenburg Concerto No.3 BWV 1048.
