The favorite series of the 90s, Melrose Place, gets a sequel, with the original stars – Kulttuuri

Melrose Place is brought back to life.

American soap opera Melrose Place will be continued, say the US media, among others Deadline and Variety.

A new version of the series, which was shown in 1992–1999, is being developed, which also includes the original actors, such as Heather Locklear, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga. They also act as producers of the new version.

The series was already revived once again in 2009, but the success was weak and only one production season was made.

According to Deadline, the new series takes place in modern times, i.e. decades after the previous events of the series. Works as a screenwriter Lauren Gussis. Created by the original series Aaron Spelling and Darren Star.

In the new in the story, one of the characters from the original series has died suddenly, which brings old friends back together.

Set in West Hollywood, Los Angeles Melrose Place was one of the most popular TV series of the 1990s among young adults. In the USA, the series was shown by the Fox channel and in Finland by MTV3.

Melrose Place had started in 1990 Beverly Hills 90210:n the so-called spin-off series.

MElrose place made stars out of their actors, and Heather Locklear, for example, became one of Hollywood’s most followed public figures.

The actor publicly struggled with substance abuse problems for a long time and was in rehab and psychiatric treatment a few times. In 2020 Locklear said he had been sober for a year.
