National Lottery ticket unveiled to commemorate International Dance Day

The National Lottery unveiled yesterday at the Los Talleres Cultural Center a commemorative ticket in tribute to the career of companies, dancers, choreographers and researchers who have contributed significantly to the development and enrichment of contemporary dance in Mexico.

The launch of these commemorative banknotes takes place in the context of International Dance Day, celebrated every April 29 worldwide. In addition to celebrating the artists and their achievements, it will be an opportunity to disseminate and promote the cultural richness of this discipline.

The tickets are for the Superior Draw 2803 on April 19 with a jackpot of 17 million pesos, which will take place in the Drawing Room of the Lottery’s Edison Building at 8 p.m.

The companies honored are Aksenti Contemporary Dance, Antares Contemporary Dance, Red Clay Performing Art, Contempodance, Counterdance and Delphi Contemporary Dance.

Also, The Mutable Body Theater in Motion, La Manga Dance Company, Nemian Stage Dance, Quiatora Monorriel, Rolando Beattie Contemporary Dance Ensemble and Tandem Dance Company.

The rest of the personalities whose image will appear in the commemorative series of the National Lottery are the dancers, choreographers and teachers Beatriz Madrid, Ester Lopezllera, Lola Lince, Lourdes Luna, Óscar Ruvalcaba, Ruby Gámez and Serafín Aponte, in addition to Juan Hernández, historian , researcher and art critic.

One of the selection criteria was that these companies and personalities had more than 30 years of artistic work, in addition to having contributed significantly to the development and enrichment of contemporary dance in Mexico.

The unveiling ceremony became a space for commemoration and a platform to exchange knowledge, experiences and reflections about the role of dance in today’s society.
