Everything can be sold and bought in our time: from ideas and success to love, joy and the soul. At least, at the level of promise. Such is the theme of Naples areaa comedy about frustrated dreams, the desire to excel and the lack of opportunities, which is presented at the Jesús Romero Flores Culture House until May 17.

Written and directed by Óscar Alatriste, this work uses humor, acting, dancing, singing and magic to question the true meaning of success in a society obsessed with money and status.

We have become smoke buyerssays Alejandro Cancino, producer and one of the performers of the production, who describes that this proposal delves, through laughter, into aspects related to human development that have to do with both individual and social virtues and defects.

“We wanted this comedy to be as deep as possible. As they say: ‘between jokes, the truth emerges’. Here, between laughter and laughter, we touch on topics such as ecology or approaches to capitalism to find out what success is, what we buy and what we consume.”

The actor clarifies that, rather than criticizing, the aim is to generate reflection among the public and that they have a good time and have fun.

Naples area tells the story of a woman and a man who aspire to improve their lives through sales. With their dreams and hope in one hand and a notebook in the other, they attend a keynote lecture by a renowned coaching motivational, a true master and lord of sales…of smoke or air, who in turn learned everything from his mentor.

“In this work, we take contemporary history as a mirror, in which the coaching has gained great importance in various sectors and activities. We are full of coaches motivational, business, Internet. It is, then, a small nod to this new trend that exists in the world,” says Alejandro Cancino in an interview.

It is always important to rely on someone, but this fever of guides has also led many to fall into scams. There are life guides who do not agree or practice what they are suggesting. Finally, their only desire is to make money.

From its title, this work refers to that desire of our times to try to trade with everythingas happens in Naples and other Italian cities, where they sell as remember the supposed packaged air of those places, concludes the actor and producer.
