Eminem announces the release of a new album entitled “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de grace)”

Eminem is back. Four years after the release of his last album, the rapper from Detroit announced the upcoming release of his twelfth studio album which will be titled “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grace)”. As the title of this future album indicates, he will evoke the death of Slim Shady, his famous outrageous character created at the end of the 1990s which made him a rap legend.

Marshall Mathers, his real name, made this announcement via a video inspired by police shows broadcast on a giant screen during the NFL draft then published on social networks, in which we hear a fake journalist announcing the death of his alter ego. “Thanks to his complex, often criticized and vulgar nursery rhymes, the antihero known as Slim Shady has no shortage of enemies,” we can hear in particular.

Longtime collaborator and friend of Eminem, 50 Cent makes an appearance in this clip and testifies about Slim Shady: “He’s not my friend, he’s a psychopath,” we can hear him say. “His vulgar words and his controversial antics may have led to his disappearance,” adds the journalist. “I knew it was a matter of time for Slim,” Eminem himself concludes in this video.

An album announced by Dr Dre in March

The one who is considered by some to be the greatest rapper of all time has not given any other information on this album, which is scheduled for release this summer. Last month, Dr Dre announced on American television that the Lose Yourself singer was going to release a new album in 2024. “Eminem is working on his own album which will be released this year. I spoke with him and he told me he was happy for me to make the announcement here. I have songs on the album and it’s fire,” announced the most famous of his friends on the set of Jimmy Kimmel.

In 2020, the rapper surprised everyone by unexpectedly releasing his album “Music to Be Murdered By”, an opus which had enjoyed real success composed of numerous collaborations, including one with Ed Sheeran.
