Dalí, Manet and Miró, among the artists represented at the opening of TEFAF New York 2024

The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF) has inaugurated this May 9, the New York edition for VIP guests, and among the 37 outstanding pieces of paintings and drawings, classic and contemporary sculptures, design and decorative arts, jewelry and an installation of selected works, there are pieces of Dalí, Manet or Miró, among others.

In addition to the exhibition of works from almost 90 international galleries from fifteen countries that will be present from this May 10 to May 14 in 16 rooms of the Park Avenue Armory TEFAF will host a series of talks in the Veterans Room in which artists, curators and museum directors, editors and experts from the art world participate.

Specifically, the Mayoral Gallery will bring together works in its stand, among which the oil painting stands out. ‘Characters, moon, bird’ (1976) o ‘Women’ (1967), by Joan Miró; a drawing by Dalí, ‘Study for the Transformation of the Virgin Mary by Sandro Boticelli’ (1939); a fresco painting by Joaquín Torres-García, ‘Pyramid construction’ or other works by Wilfredo Lam, Chillida, Juan Muñoz or Tàpies.

Other paintings present in the New York edition of TEFAF are ‘Woman with blue bow’ by Manet; a still life by Giorgio Morandi from 1942; ‘The golden sieve’ by Yves Tanguy; ‘The seven palaces of heaven’ by Anselm Kiefer; Peter Stämpfli’s pop oil, ‘The Half’.

Sculpture, design and decorative arts, jewelry and drawings will also be represented thanks to the compositions of numerous international artists such as Calder, Morandi, Kiefer, Giacometti, Lichtenstein, Pollock, Kehinde Wiley or talented women such as Claire Tabouret, Marianne Richter , Chiharu Shiota, Rebecca Salsbury and Tora Urup, among others.
