The organizers are promising a large gathering facing the sea. On September 21, a life-size statue of Johnny Hallyday will be inaugurated in Port-Fréjus by the RN mayor of Fréjus, David Rachline, we learned The Figaro from concordant sources. The announcement was made on the social networks of the city of Fréjus itself last July.

This statue is first of all the will of the HDC Desperados, a motorcycle club founded in 1992 by the “Taulier”. The club had first contacted the city of Saint-Tropez, where Johnny Hallyday was a regular, Cogolin or Ramatuelle, before having the agreement of a municipality ready to host the statue. The city of Fréjus fully financed the work shaped for months in his workshop in Aude by the sculptor Olivier Delobel.

A thousand people expected

“The inauguration will take place at Place des Galoubets in Port-Fréjus at 5 p.m., details from the Figaro HDC Desperados International Secretary Pascal Dufour. In the morning, we will organize a motorcycle run, before everyone meets in the afternoon for the inauguration by the mayor of Fréjus. Then there will be a giant aperitif on the port that can accommodate up to 1000 people. There will then be a concert on site with former guitarists of Johnny Hallyday.

Pascal Dufour promises to be present “from the singer’s relatives”including his lawyer Jacques Verrechia. He also hopes to be able to broadcast a video of David Hallyday during the event. Laëticia Hallyday will not be there, however.
